Review: The History of Love

Don’t let the title fool you! Unlike the last few B&N Free Friday books this ain’t no Harlequin Romance!! It is a very well constructed little story in which a book, called The History of Love, connects an 80-year-old Holocaust Survivor, a writer living in Chile, an awkward 15-year-old girl and her little brother (who just might be The Messiah).

Each chapter is written from the perspective of one of these 4 characters– each one quirky with its’ own style; not one better than the next. i don’t want to say too much because it was wonderful to piece everything together as you read it. It was just a delightful little puzzle to put together!

Trivia fact (that i didn’t know anyways…): Nicole Krauss is married to author Jonathan Safran Foer whose book Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close was quite good as well and is being made into a movie starring Tom Hanks coming out this Christmas! Here’s the trailer:
